1- Teachers aren’t passing the buck
2- Teachers are working just as much as everyone else (maybe a bit more!):
3- Teachers said that tenure should not protect ineffective teachers.
4- Teachers aren’t hanging out gossiping in the teacher’s lounge.
5- Teachers aren’t opposed to standardized testing. Teachers just think there are better ways to assess student learning.
6- Teachers worry about basing so much on tests that students don’t take all that seriously.
7- Teachers aren’t afraid of evaluations.
8- Teachers believe that our teaching skills will speak for themselves.
9- Teachers see our students coming to us with more challenges than before.
10- Teachers aren’t in this profession for the money.

ReplyDeleteMy choice to become a teacher was not made lightly. This decision was a culmination of a process of reflection about what I wanted to do with my life. I have chosen a career in education because I believe that it is one of the most important functions performed in our culture. Also, teachers individually and collectively have the ability to not only change the world, but to improve it.
So nice Nisreen.. These 10 facts made me more proud to be a teacher, more and more generations arise because this person worked hard on their future to be successful and bright. One career that results with all other careers in our life. These have showed the teacher to be really a candle that burns herself for the students' future.
